3 tips for job search on social media

  1. Take a professional picture. You need an easily recognisable, current, head and shoulders shot that you can use across every network. If you like to change things up often, consider getting a Gravatar — which will update your picture across all networks whenever you change it.
  2. Think about which networks you want to have feature your professional persona. LinkedIn is a given, but should you use Twitter to curate text-based content or Pinterest to show off your picture curation skills?
  3. If you build it, they won’t come. You have to find and follow the people you want to connect with you. Follow five new people every day on every platform to grow your network steadily and mindfully. You’ll want to say “hi” to your new connections.
